Jan was able to help me by talking with me about my health issues, stress levels and pain. Then she came up with a plan on how to help me. I have noticed less pain and stress. I find that I am calmer throughout the week and handle stressful situations better.  My husband has commented several times how much calmer I am since I started working with Jan.  I have learned that by taking care of my whole being, I am a better mom, wife and teacher.  I leave every visit with Jan feeling empowered and ready for whatever life throws at me that week.

Jan has been a blessing to my life. I came to Jan with curiosity, being new to the idea of CranioSacral Therapy. Being in good health at age 76, my concerns were improving posture and relieving episodes of stress and anxiety.  I also had some GI issues and some hand/wrist arthritis.  After 6 weeks of visits, I have found Jan to be a hard-working professional, bright and sunny, competent and caring. She takes the time to tailor my treatments to my specific needs, and attentively listens to any questions or concerns I may have.  Jan is generous with suggestions and materials that I can use to help myself, glad to teach movement and techniques that I can practice at home.  My GI issues and arthritis have eased up, and I feel relaxed and energized after treatments, walking tall and able to handle stress far better than before treatments began.

In this mindfulness course, we focused on learning the basics of mindfulness practices and how to apply these ideas to daily life.  I would tell others that this is a great class to take if you’ve never practiced mindfulness before, or if you assumed that it would not work for you.  It is an excellent introduction to mindfulness and I would definitely recommend it!

Samantha S., college student

The mindfulness course is a good introduction into meditation! I learned a lot about incorporating meditation into my daily life as well as some simple breathing and yoga exercises. And even if you aren’t able to incorporate it into your daily life as much as you’d like, the class itself is a good chance to unwind and relax.

Lynn O, Grandmother, Retired RN:

I initially decided to meet with Jan for life coaching. I am approaching a major life change – retirement, and wanted to have a plan before making that leap. What I found in my sessions with Jan was far more than I ever thought possible! She is a nutritionist, a counselor, teacher, coach, guru and mentor. If you are open to the experience, you also will be "blown away." Thanks Jan for being in my life at this time when I needed you. I truly appreciate all the awareness and richness that you have brought into my life. May only good things and positive energy come your way.
Before starting the program, I was experiencing daily anxiety that was affecting my quality of life. Was also experiencing pain in hips, feet, thumbs, and shoulders. My goals for the program were less pain, more relaxed and more energy. Jan helped me toward these goals by: directing me towards better nutrition, yoga for stretching and meditation for decreased stress. She has provided me with more control over my anxiety and pain. Jan also asked pointed questions that helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses.
I would describe Jan as: dedicated and passionate about wellness. She is realistic, motivational, a good listener and intuitive. Jan does not use a "cookie cutter" approach where one program fits all.....she addresses your individual needs and goals so that you have a personalized experience. I would recommend Jan to anyone who is open to encounter their inner spirit and who wants to achieve their maximum level of health.

I highly recommend Jan Lafleur's yoga classes. She is a highly skilled instructor and I always feel supported in exploring my own boundaries as we move through the positions. I am very excited that she is offering more classes starting in January and I am pleased to let my neighbors know about them.

Janet D, Grandmother

My experience in the Yoga & Nutrition for Bone Health Workshop was educational. I learned a lot about osteoporosis. The one on one attention during yoga was what I needed. Jan came around to watch each of us to be sure we were doing what we should be doing to get the utmost from the yoga exercises. I would recommend Jan to my friends that are in my age group but when it comes to the yoga portion I think any age would benefit tremendously. It helps with agility, stress, and letting go.

My dentist suggested CranioSacral Therapy for back, neck and jaw pain after a car accident. CranioSacral Therapy has helped me in a number of ways.  I think the most significant change is stress reduction.  The therapy has a very calming effect.  I have also noticed a reduction in headaches after my concussion.  Jan’s services also assisted in my progress to get my jaw to close correctly and my bite (teeth) to come together again. I would recommend Jan for her CranioSacral Therapy skills, her good listening skills, and her yoga classes!  A very professional caregiver!

Sue B, Grandmother, Retired Hairstylist

First and foremost Jan represents what she believes in and in what she teaches. She is the picture of a very healthy woman and the advice she gives she lives in her daily life. Attending Jan's workshop was my first experience in a yoga/nutrition setting.  Jan made it so easy for me.
One very positive experience in attending Jan's workshop is her interest in watching the members of her workshop, making sure we were comfortable and doing proper movements to benefit our bodies. I would strongly recommend any woman to attend Jan's Yoga & Nutrition for Bone Health workshop. Through this experience you will benefit tremendously in what most of us are going through either now or in the future.

Barb B, Minister

I have always enjoyed my yoga classes with Jan.  She is not only knowledgeable, but also personifies the gentle nature of yoga.  Her voice is soft and reassuring which helps students get relaxed and centered.  I recently took a class with her entitled “Yoga & Nutrition for Bone Health.”  This class was very informative and helped me to better understand how yoga affects the body and how my diet also contributes to my overall wellness.  I like the way yoga helps the body and mind work together.  Before this class, I had never really connected my physical body with my mind or thought about how one affects the other.  By learning about my breath, I have become more relaxed and have noticed I have better balance.
I would recommend taking any class from Jan.  She is a gentle teacher and takes the time to help students with their posture.  She is enthusiastic about her teaching and takes the time to get to know her students on a personal level.  She has a wide range of knowledge and demonstrates the different ways that yoga contributes to our overall health.

I'm very specific and rare at publicly endorsing anyone; but, I have to echo the comments posted about Jan Lafleur's yoga class!!! I've been in other yoga classes and ended up hurting so badly I didn't go back. Jan is NOT like those instructors! She is certified (important to me) and her focus is on gentle yoga. She gives tips throughout each pose that help you tell if you're pushing too hard or not enough. If you have concerns about an area - for me it is hip and knee issues along with plantar fasciitis in both feet - let her know. She is able to give you modifications that help you in the pose without injury. I leave class feeling good, relaxed yet energized. If I have stiffness or pain between classes I can utilize the poses between classes and I've been able to better manage my daily pain (and take fewer Advil). If you've been wanting to try yoga then you cannot go wrong by taking Jan's classes.
